And who can decide this – the blender foundation or the artists and users in blender.org?
Why not try the new concept of the LTS version and not release a Blender version until there is something in a stable state?

The reason you should have a new LTS Blender release is that, when you release a version with major new features, it is not always obvious for users, how it fits in with their existing Blender installation.

I think it should be up to the Blender Foundation and the artists in blender.org what LTS number to use. That is really the idea behind LTS. 2.82 LTS is simply a collection of bug fixes for a previous release which is much more stable, but for a new user who is already used to the newer Blender release, the idea of updating can be daunting.

I fully support the idea of creating LTS releases of the development version, but I think we should not do that by misusing Blender’s point releases. We should try to stay away from the last name of a year and create stable versions in a more organized and unified way. How confusing would it be, if today you have 3.2.1 and tomorrow it is called Blender 3.5?

But this kind of confusing situation will also cause lots of problems for add-on developers and users. What is it you want add-on developers to do? They should not create 2 different sets of Blender releases, one with stable development and one with latest bug fixes. Two sets of releases would destroy the user experience.

But I would argue that it is exactly the current state of blender that should be approached with the concept of LTS releases. If you want to stick with a point release, it is okay, but it should be done in a more organized way, like I mentioned earlier.

The new features are not listed on their site, but I’ll summarize them here:

  • The ‘edit in browser’ mode gets a big rework to add animations and other things.
  • Blender import/export got an overhaul. It’s not perfect, but it adds new API features that are really interesting.

Some new “product announcements”:

  • In addition to being on the full suite of blender apps, YouTube is now available directly from the user preferences.
  • New Blender.org templates and branding.
  • Blender now saves for you on platforms that don’t support saving, such as Linux Mint.
  • Blender now supports exporting to WebGL.

That is my impression of Blender 3D Registration Key Text.
Until we have the feature Blender can creat a good Text we wont bring this into any Studio or any project.
Blender can do it for sure.
Im tired of fighting for it year after year…

Just what the title says. It seems to be underwhelming a “clear” roadmap and making Blender 3.2 an umbrella for all and everything rather than taking any one area as a priority. The “Planting animation” feature seems like a branding exercise.

Some additional information:

  • I’m not a strong advocate for the LTS numbers, but I do think that v2.0 indicates some major change in Blender. It’s a special version for which it makes sense to have an LTS.
  • All major changes in Blender have been accompanied by a new version number. For example, LTS 3.2 can be seen as an extension of 3.0, because all major developments were made in the 3.0 branch.

What is Blender 3D 3.2.1?

What is Blender 3D 3.2.1?

With the beginning of development of a new blenders windows systems as Blender has a long tradition of keeping the LTS releases every year. If we change the system so that the LTS release will no longer be on the same day as blender releases. This would make it very difficult to know what version of blender you are using. In my opinion a common practice is to know what version of blender you are using.

I’ve been using Blender for the past 4 years and am moving on to a different platform that offers a better environment for doing 3D work. I will be taking my knowledge and experience with Blender to the new platform and will be releasing it under the GPL.

Why not just change 2.83 to be Blender 3.0 and make it LTS Every year release the next LTS as a full version number or even a 0.5 version number ie 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0 etc. Forget point releases as official and just keep the in-between versions in experimental. 3.0 drops as LTS. In experimental we get the daily builds for 3.5 Alpha until 3.5 LTS drops a year later. Just because it would be in experimental and be labeled alpha doesnt mean it has to be lower quality than current point releases. This could allow the devs to rocket forward and try a lot of new things.

If you want stability the best is to make a LTS version release, LTS mean static but more testing and version dependancy, so your users can just install it on their PC and work easily and get bug fix. You will have big benefit. The second idea is make a version every year, if you implement them in a good way this can be a good solution also. Third, you can make daily build, like blender.org, for users and developers to work in the developement branch (development branch are the daily updated branch)
