The pace of software development is accelerating and the cost of weak code security (vulnerabilities) can be really high. That’s why mitigating vulnerability risks is a must for everyday development. For a while now, JetBrains IntelliJ IDEA has featured the Dependency Checker plugin powered by Checkmarx. The plugin identifies vulnerable packages and helps you secure your app before deployment, when it is too late to protect your code. How does it work in practice Mala Gupta, together with guests Or Chen and Guy Lyuboshits from Checkmarx invite you to see what Checkmarx Depen
Visual Studio Code is a text editor. And this is best option in my opinion. For Ruby, I cannot say how VS Code is good. If you wanna choose IDE, RubyMine should fit your needs. Because IDEs are more compatible with major needs. But text editors are just text editor. You can do same things with also text editors. I recommend to try both VS Code and RubyMine. And you will be able to find which fits better for your needs

In our recent RubyMine release strategy paper, we reviewed the future of Ruby development tools, along with other tooling like IDEs, programming language editors, and static code analysis. We outlined several issues that we’re using to make our experience easier:
What is JetBrains RubyMine 2022.2 good for?
Most of the JetBrains support ticket system is unavailable during weekend hours, for example. Another reason for this is that the number of developers who can work on support decreases during this time. But, in general, more and more people have to contact support, and in recent years, many projects and codebases have grown to maturity, so the number of developers working on support has increased.
As a Java developer, Intellij IDEA and RubyMine are the most versatile IDEs that I have used. RubyMine is for Ruby on Rails development, with a integrated debugger and RubyMine files. Things like static type checking and other IDE features are not built into the language, but there are others very like those.
In one stroke, Rider brings the power of code intelligence to the web through the use of our own API and the integration of the jetbrains.com website. The web server communicates with the IDE over the web, giving you access to every feature of the IDE while keeping your code safe and sound.
You are currently restricted to only having access to the two editor spaces, the Web and the Editor. But with Rider’s new integration with JetBrains Gateway, all JetBrains IDEs are accessible right from one place.
The integration with the JetBrains Gateway eliminates having to access different IDE instances on your different devices. For example, on the desktop you can browse the IDE and code from your IDE in the desktop and use Rider on mobile devices.
Language Server Protocol (LSP) are interfaces that represent the state of a language within an IDE. JetBrains is one of the leading contributors to the LSP specifications and LSP Server which it continuously upgrades. LSP aims to deliver the type of functionality and power that is available in modern IDEs and text editors to any language within JetBrains IDE and text editors. All modern IDEs are language servers, but a server on their own is not useful if it cannot communicate with and offer help on your language and code. LSP server is an open-source software project built on top of LSP specification, Apache Maven, Apache Felix, etc. It currently provides support for popular programming languages (Java, Scala, and Kotlin). This is the first update of the JetBrains LSP which brings new language server APIs, updated logging and help and refactoring support. There are a number of incremental improvements in the server as well. For example, a new command line argument (–install-languageserver-api ) was added, which allows you to install a standalone server for your language.
